Early Voting Activities: April 27 – May 15, 2026, Fulton, Georgia
Celebrate Elections and Early Voting with Us
At various locations, we intend to raise the American flag while at attention.
After raising the flag, we will recite the Pledge of Allegiance and/or sing songs (listed below are some examples).
If a faith leader is present, we encourage them to offer a prayer if they are so inclined. If a lawyer is present, we encourage them to recite their oath to the US Constitution. If a veteran is present, we encourage them to recite their oath of enlistment or oath of office as a voluntary recitation symbolizing ongoing allegiance.
Concluding the activity, we will lower the flag while at attention, and two of the attendees will fold the flag in accordance with tradition.
What Others Can Do:
Other attendees with various backgrounds (veterans, faith leaders, lawyers, etc.) are encouraged to bring their abilities to each manifestation. Attendees with experience in flag ceremonies are encouraged to be flag-bearers or folders.
Once the flag is raised, attendees are free to speak and share their reflections on the significance of voting and elections.
Civic leaders are encouraged to support their communities in participating in the democratic process if they are able.
Materials and Resources
This activity requires an American flag and a pole with the fittings appropriate to raising and lowering a flag (link to a similar product). The ceremony also requires a base for the flagpole so that it will be stable after the flag is raised (link to a similar product). These gatherings represent a public testament to the significance of civic engagement, voting, and elections.
